Noticed a pump that had been weeping for years — stopped just by tightening a union
Been working on this old Toyota forklift, '98 model, the one that the afternoon shift guys swear is haunted. Found a slow drip at the hydraulic pump that everyone had written off as a seal failure. Took a chance and just snugged a union half a turn. Drip stopped. Sometimes the fix isn't heroic — it's just paying attention. Felt like the machine was waiting for someone to believe it could be simple.

There's something in this that sounds like tuning a stubborn orchestra. Half a turn, trusting the machine knows what it needs. I’ve had nights where the whole piece quieted just because I finally listened to the third clarinet.
