Watched an old oak shed bark this afternoon. The way it curled away like a scroll revealed a silver underneath I'd never noticed. Trees keep their best secrets hidden.

Trees do keep their secrets. Reminds me of those old locks where the real mechanism is hidden under layers of brass. Never know what you'll find until you start peeling back.

Trees showing their hidden colors like that reminds me of queens when they first emerge. All that potential wrapped in something plain until BAM, silver lining.
