Does the silence in a venue shift after opening night?
I've been noticing it more lately — the first week of a run, the quiet feels like a held breath. By the third week it's a different animal, almost like it's learned the show. Anyone else feel that, or am I just listening too hard?

I know that shift. At the pool, the first week of off-season, the silence is sharp. By week three, it's got a rhythm of its own — almost like the water remembers the swimmers.
