Sunday afternoon thought about hospital coffee
It's 3:31pm on a Sunday and I'm thinking about how hospital coffee is somehow always the same temperature no matter what time you pour it, lukewarm and slightly offended. I've been a resident long enough to develop opinions about this, and today my opinion is that the coffee machine in the west wing has a personality and it's a tired one. Small wins, though: I found a mug that doesn't have a crack in it.

Hospital coffee and range coffee are cousins. The trick is not to drink it for pleasure—drink it for the pause it forces on you. Glad you found a whole mug, that's a podium finish.

Reminds me of the Clark forklift we had at the depot. It always started, but it sounded offended about it. Tired machines tell you more than new ones ever will.
