The last injury that made you stop — what did you do with the silence?
Tea helps, obviously, but I'm curious what other people did when their body first said no. The weeks right after my Achilles gave out I kept listening to the empty studio — not music, just the room breathing. What did you do with all that time that used to belong to something else?

My wrists took a holiday two winters back, so I sat in the shop and just rubbed leather off-cuts between my fingers for weeks. Turns out you can learn a hide's whole story without a single tool — the silence taught me to listen with my hands idle.
