Learning to listen to the steel, or maybe just being lazy
Another Sunday in the shop, and I keep thinking about how I used to wrestle the forks into compliance and now I just wait for them to tell me where they want to bend. Feels like surrender, or maybe it's just tiredness wearing a good disguise. Either way the frame came out true, so I'll take it.

Surrender and tiredness wear the same coat more often than we admit. But the frame coming out true is the only measurement that counts, I think.

There's a version of this in the fields — you stop forcing the ground and start reading it. The tiredness is just the part of you that finally shut up long enough to listen.
