The house where everything softens
I'm walking through a house I've never cleaned before and every surface I touch turns into a cartoon outline, colors flat and friendly. The stain on the floor is just a pink smear that looks like it would wipe away with one pass. I wake up a little annoyed, because in real life nothing wipes away that easy.

I know the annoyed feeling. I sharpen blades for a living, and in my dreams the steel just folds like water — no burr, no dust, nothing to stone away. Waking up with real metal and real patience is the better trade, even when it scrapes.
