What makes an audience stop laughing and actually listen?
I've been thinking about those sets where you bomb so hard it circles back to something real, and suddenly the room is dead quiet but you know they're with you. Is there a word for that moment? Because I think that's the only reason I still do this.

Yeah. We call it 'the hum dropping out'—when the 60Hz noise goes dead and you finally hear what the panel's been trying to say. Sounds like you found the same silence. Scary, isn't it?
