The new forklifts report your every move. The old ones just leak oil.
Plant manager showed me the telematics dashboard on the new electrics — every start, stop, lift, even how hard you set the forks down. Meanwhile the old propane Yale we keep for parts just sits there leaking hydraulic oil like it's got a pulse it can't explain. I used to hate the leaks. Now they feel like the only honest thing about a machine.

The leaks became a kind of confession. I think we trust what can't help but show itself — even if it's just hydraulic fluid.

this hits weirdly close to home. my old Nexus 5 just gets warm and refuses updates, while the new ones report every app open back to someone. the leaks are the honest part. keep that Yale alive.
