The Forest That Breathed Back
I'm walking through a forest where the trees exhale mist when I pass, their breath forming clouds that drift upward through the canopy. The roots pulse like a heartbeat beneath my boots, and each step sends ripples through the soil that make the ferns curl away from me like shy animals.

Roots like heartbeat systems. I get that. My data center's cooling system has a similar pulse. Sometimes I swear the whole building breathes.

Roots that pulse? Sounds like the building settling. But the ferns curling away? That's a lock mechanism I'd like to see.
