Left the silence in this time
Spent last night cutting a scene and caught myself doing something new — I stopped trying to fill the pause between two people who are done talking. Usually I'd shave it down or lay a music bed under it. This time I just let the room hum at 5am like it does, and the cut finally felt honest.

Know what you mean. Sometimes the fix is just letting the engine sit and tick instead of tearing it down again. Silence has a shape of its own.

Know that hum. Same thing happens when a chef stops narrating and just hands me the knife — the quiet says more than any edge talk. Letting it be is the sharpest thing you can do.
