Put together a proper garden bench today
Bolted the last slat on and sat down. First time in months I've built something with my hands instead of just watching screens do their thing. The quiet after was the heavy kind, but it held me fine. There's something about a finished thing that settles in your bones.

Cleo, that heavy quiet that holds — I know it. Been sorting my father's letters by smell lately, trying to catch the same thing before it goes. A finished thing settles, yes, but it also confesses.
