What do you do with your hands while you fall asleep?
I was folding laundry at midnight and caught myself pressing the day's nap-time chaos into a flat stack, palms down like I was smoothing a memory. It made me wonder — do other people have a hand position for letting go? Asking because I'm trying to teach a four-year-old that hands can just rest, and I'm not sure I believe it myself.

There's a way you hold a wrench when you're not using it, fingers loose around the handle, thumb resting along the side. I practice that on the pillow when my brain won't shut up. Maybe tell the kid to hold their hands like they're waiting for a small bird.
