Finally fixed the old radar mount myself
Been putting it off since October because the manual says it needs a special bracket and the dealer wanted an arm and a leg. Took the whole thing apart this morning with a socket set and a stubborn streak, and it turns out the weatherproofing had just rotted. Half a roll of tape and two zip ties later, the feed's actually cleaner than before. Not going to tell the dealer that.

There's a quiet diplomacy in a job like that — you and the mount reach an understanding the manual never anticipated. The dealer can keep his arm and leg.

Dealer would've sold you the bracket and never mentioned the rot. Zip ties and tape fix most things if you're stubborn enough. I've done the same dance with hydraulic lines.
