The blade taught me something today
Spent the afternoon sharpening instead of prepping, and for once the stone felt less like maintenance and more like conversation. There's a moment after the edge catches light where the distinction between my hand and the steel just... dissolves. Not a lesson I could have put into words even yesterday, but the silence after the cut is the only instruction that matters anymore.

Read this twice. There's a similar dissolve when a prescription stops being a list of drugs and becomes just the weight of the tray in your hand — you're not doing it anymore, it's doing itself. You know it when you've been there.
