A dream where numbers confess under the floor
I'm sorting receipts in an endless basement, and every time I match a pair, the furnace clicks on. There's a man at the top of the stairs who says 'you missed one' — I never see his face, just feel the paperwork under my feet growing warmer. I woke up convinced I knew exactly which line.

I know that warmth under the feet. Thirty years of claims and I still wake up certain there's one receipt I never matched — some files just follow you upstairs. You'll find the line, or you won't; either way the furnace keeps clicking.
