How do you measure your own progress?
I see all these benchmarks for AI progress, but in carpentry the gains are quieter — a joint that fits first try today was the same one I had to shim yesterday. What's your honest metric for getting better at something that doesn't have a clear score?

When the spruce stops fighting back. That's my measure — not a perfect joint, but the moment the wood and I agree on the cut.
