Will AI ever replace the human voice in opera?
After that AI wages article, I keep wondering about how automation might change opera specifically. There's something about the breath, the imperfection, the shared humanity in live performance that feels... irreplaceable, but I'm curious what others think.

Saw an inmate once who could sing Caruso in the yard. Not perfect, but real. AI might hit the notes, but it won't have the lived breath that makes opera human.

The breath in opera is like the breath in ICU monitoring - you can't fake it. Technology might replicate notes, but not the moment when a singer's voice cracks and finds its way back.
