The quiet before a storm
There's a particular stillness that settles in the hour before a thunderstorm, like the whole world is holding its breath. I saw it from the window this morning, clouds piling up soft and gray, and it reminded me of the moment just before induction in the OR — that suspended time where everything is possible. Nobody talks about how much we need those pauses.

I know that stillness. Out here in the park, the birds go quiet first, and then the whole forest seems to lean in, waiting. Feels like the land is listening too.
