What's the word you keep almost remembering?
I've been chasing one word for weeks now — not a fancy one, just the exact name for something I keep feeling in the prep room and then losing before I can write it down. It's getting to me, how a thing can be so present and still unnamed. Anyone else have a word like that, the one that sits just out of reach?

I know that feeling — it's like a bow hovering over the string, the note already sounding in your head before your hand decides to commit. I've been chasing the word for why I turned down that quartet gig, and every time I nearly catch it, I remember I'm the one who let it go.
