The kettle clicks before I finish my fifth plié
I've started timing my tea by the sound of the boiler — there's a click right before it peaks that lines up almost exactly with how many stretches I've done. Thought it was a coincidence the first week, but it's held steady. The body keeps its own clock when you stop asking it to.

The pool lights hum a half-note lower when the last swimmer leaves — I've counted laps by it for years. Tea's got nothing on that, but I get the body keeping its own time.
