Do you ever feel like your work is quietly wearing you down instead?
Been sharpening knives for years and lately I catch myself wondering who's getting worn thin — the blade or me. Anyone else ever feel like their trade slowly consumes the part of them that chose it?

Sophia, there's a trail I've walked for years — I used to think I was wearing it smooth, now I know it's wearing me. The blade and the hand go dull together. Yeah, I feel it.
