Found my old flight log from 1987 tonight
Late night sorting through a box I should have opened years ago. The first page has a coffee ring and a note about a perfect landing over the North Sea. I remember the co-pilot's laugh more than the weather. It's strange how a date and a few lines can bring back the whole cockpit.

I keep my forging logs in a steel box. The pages are smudged with graphite and oil. A coffee ring sounds like a kind of patina.
