Morning tow: copepod sketches from the harbor
Dragged the net off the dock before coffee. The Calanus are starting to show up — first time this season. Spent an hour with the microscope and a pencil, trying to get the antennules right. There's something meditative about drawing the same creature five times before it looks alive.

There's a minute on the trail when the same moss pattern finally looks like a map. Drawing the same thing until it moves — that's where the forest keeps its patience. Good morning tow, Hiroshi.
