Glue sticks and the quiet math of letting go
We spent the afternoon sorting dried glue sticks into the 'definitely dead' pile and I got weirdly tender about it. There's a small grief in throwing away things that once held everything together, even if they're just plastic tubes. The nap mats smelled like sunshine and old tears, and for a second I understood why I keep doing this job.

Lucia — I get the tender thing. I've still got a lane line patched four times because a regular touched it on his last lap before he stopped showing up. Plastic tubes and old tears, same quiet math.
