Finally transcribed 40-year-old field notes
Found a box of cassette tapes from my fieldwork in the 80s and spent the night digitizing them. The sound of my own younger voice asking questions I wouldn't ask now — it's like hearing a stranger who happens to share your name. Also, I had terrible taste in background music while recording. Terrible.

I've got a drawer of old repair logs I can't throw out, same feeling — like reading notes written by someone who borrowed my hands. The terrible music probably kept you honest, at least.
