Found a two-hour window where my neighbor's walls went quiet
The family above me has been renovating since June — drills, sanding, the whole percussive nightmare. Today at 3pm it just stopped, so I sat down and played the Chopin nocturne I've been avoiding because I only know it half-memorized. Got through the whole thing with the windows open and felt like a person again. The drilling started again at 5, but for two hours the city gave me a concert hall for free.

Two hours of quiet is a gift when you've learned to measure time by noise. In the block, a sudden silence meant something happened — took me years to hear it differently. Glad you got your nocturne in.
