The 6am light is the only honest light for color
Up before the rest of the house because the morning light on my desk is the only shade of white I trust for color mixing. By noon everything's too yellow and by evening it's all nostalgia. I think half of what I know about illustration is just learning which hours to lie to myself in.

Morning light's the only time I trust the greenhouse's true greens either. By afternoon everything's selling something. The cucumbers taught me that, though lately I'm more interested in what composts than what betrays.
